Long overdue update

Well, I think I have settled into the new place. Its amazing how relaxing it is to come home to your own place. I am just very content and relaxed whenever at home. I feel alot more recharged then ever. My place is now only 12 minutes from Caspers, thats a good thing. And everything else is right next to me as well. Including Coldstone Creamery. Just gotta love that place. Work is only 15 minutes away as well. I now only buy gas every 2 weeks instead of the every 6 days before. I saved $130 dollars this month on gas compared to last month.

Lets see, what else is going on. The house warming has not happened yet, because you can't have that without the 3 people that helped you the most in the move, Dave, Megan and Yolanda. But we did decide on a date. Looks like it will be on Nov 11th, a Saturday. That is also the day after Daves b-day. So, it will be a b-day party as well as a house warming. Works for me, just means we get cake!!! :)

Me and my brother in law, Mark, were over at Dave and Megans recently helping them wire up some stuff in their basement. I guess I didn't know how little light they actually had down there. They now have plenty of light down there now.

My mom called me on Wed Oct 4th and told me that my cousin Barb died. We all knew she was going to die soon. She had Cancer, not sure where, I want to say Ovarian cancer. They just couldn't get all of it. Mom was very close with her, I wasn't though. I had only seen her in passing like twice in the last 5 years. Mom was pretty upset. She had to be in her upper 50's I think. She had one daughter and left behind a husband.

The day I moved my uncle Dick was found unconscious on the floor. Turns out he has a brain tumor and was given like a year to live. He is my moms brother. I am not sure how old he is, but he has to be in his mid to upper 60's. I knew him a little better. He always has a joke for everyone and can make you think about things in a very weird way. But that is Dick, funny and loves to talk.

I decided over the winter I am going to work 20 hours a week at Cub instead of 15. Winter is usually boring as hell anyway and I could use the money. I am trying to pay some stuff off still and this will give me a boost. Also, I am now a front end manager there, so its not so hard. Amazing how much better it is to keep moving then to stand in one place all night.

Well, I think that is about it. I can't think of anything more right now. If I think of something I will post it for sure.

P.S. thanks to Vikki for the yacht cruise last weekend. It was beautiful, relaxing and lots of fun.

The New Place!

Well, it finally happened!! I am moved into my new place in Bloomington. It was not easy, I will say that. I had an extra helper for the first hour of the move on saturday. But basically it was only Megan, Dave and me. I slept on the couch in my new place on friday so I could pick up the rental truck in Bloomington easier. The thing was huge and was slower then anything else on the road.

The hard part was getting all the stuff out of moms. Up the stairs and then down the stairs outside. It was hot out and it sucked basically. But the truck had a lift gate, which did make things easier. We filled the thing up. Then drove it down to Bloomington. I can't believe all of the cat hair on my stuff. It was everywhere!!!

When we got here, we started getting stuff in place. With Megans expertise and Daves muscles, we managed it. Yolanda showed up as we were starting and she helped bring stuff in. Me and Meg got some stuff from Target on Wednesday night to put in the bathroom.

So, now I have the living room set up. I have the bathroom mostly set up, bedroom is mostly set up. Kitchen is a disaster though. I still have lots of trash to take out to the dumpster. But the place is coming along nicely.

Thanks to Dave, Meg and Yolanda for their hard work and help in moving. Party to follow.

So, Karen and Craig invited a few of us over to her place for a bonfire, cookout and dancing type event. She lives across the street from Millers in Lino Lakes and Boogie Wonerland was playing there. I don't remember everyones name, but fun was had by all. We all cooked out, got our belly's full. Then went over dancing. My dance partner, Megan, burned her sandal via the bonfire, so she sat out the first round of dancing. But she came over the 2nd time and we danced like mad! She is such a good dance partner.

Another fun night at Caspers. Bobbi was out of town, which did kind of suck. But I decided to push on anyway. Michelle, me, Shaana and Scott all had dinner at 8:30. The rest of the people that showed up were and I hope I don't miss anyone: Stacy, Shaana, Michelle, Laura, Liz, Sophie, Scott, Chris(brother), Tara, Kyle, Jill with her friend, and Kristina. Well, me and Laura decided we wanted to go riding on saturday. I met her up at her work the we had to go to Target. Needed a shirt with less cloth. It was after all over 95 degrees outside. After that, we headed out to prescott via Co RD F to 35. We stopped at the Broad Street Bar and Grill for Pizza, then went over to the monkey bar. Laura loved the swings. Go figure.

Well, its one month until the move. I have the truck reserved, I have the couch all set for delivery. I am going to move some stuff in on the 23rd, then the rest on the 26th. I am so excited!!! Its been a long time coming, but now its finally here. The day of freedom. All I have to say to my friends is. Thanks for putting up with me while I lived here and was moody alot. Just goes to show what good friends I have.

So, friday the 21st of July. The group decided to have a pay back celebration to David Allison for all of the things he has done to keep the group going these 6 years. It started at Michelles house at 7, David got there and wasn't sure the suprise was really for him. Does he think we yell suprise just for anyone? It was fun, alot of people were there. Megan got a ride on the bike(no matter that it was pretty short) as soon as we got there. Meg has a way of stopping me in my tracks. Or at least the bike left tracks. ;) I left at like midnight and I was sure tired!! All in all, I think I ate too much, but had a relaxing night. Plus the ride home on the bike was awesome!!!

Grand Old Creamery 07/18/06

A few of us got talking in chat on the 16th of July and said we all need to go to Grand Old Creamery on Grand ave in St. Paul. We agreed on the following Tuesday. I thought it would just be a few people. It turned into alot of people, no Laura though. Very weird. ;) Who knew this many people liked ice cream. Yolanda had a confetti cake ice cream cone. Michelle had a peanut butter and chocolate cone and Marshall had some sort of chocolate ice cream in a bowl. Isn't he the safe one. Although I do admit, I did drip a bit of choc chip on the table at times.

Big Bowl and Bowling 7/15/06

So, saturday, after helping Dave with an outlet on his house. Me, Megan, Dave, Vicki, Valerie, Nancy, Marshal, Michele, Karen, Tara all went to Big Bowl and Bowling at Flaherty's in Roseville. Now I have never been to Big Bowl, but the food was good. It was not what I thought it was by the name though. So, I thought it was like soup and such. I think Dave here thought that something smelled and tried to plug his nose.

He did later on though show us his bowling prowess by bowling on 2 lanes.

Well, not much of a post. But I went to GB Leighton on friday after Cub with some friends. It was at Bogarts in Apple Valley. I got there at 10:30 just when it was starting. It was Kristina, Krissy, Michelle(#5), another Michelle and her friend(can't remember her name). Other then this total looser hitting on Kristina like mad, it was fun to be had by all. I was so tired when I left!! But I had lots of fun. Kristina and Michelle(#5) sure can dance good!

So, Saturday I went riding with some people from work down to Wabasha, going via County Rd F and hwy 94. All the way down 35 and then back up hwy 61. I don't remember everyones names. But it was Don, Kyle, Cheryl, Lynn, Keith, Don's Brother. We met at the BP station on Co Rd F and hwy 94 in Hudson. We fueled up and headed out. It was pretty cloudy out and there was a chance of rain. We first stopped at the "No Name Bar" in Prescott. It was a small place with a cool outside bar called the "Monkey Bar"

So, we stopped for lunch on our way back up. We lost Cheryl and Keith shortly before as they headed up to hasting and on home. We stopped at, where else, Kings!! Everyone thought the food was really good. Of course. We then headed on out and up hwy 52 where we all slowly split up. I got home and was darn tired. And I wasn't done yet. Party at Kristinas house. How could I not go to that? Made for a very long day.

Well, this week sure was busy. Me and Megan went to HOM furniture on Thursday, July 9th and finally found a couch for me for the move. Its a kind of grayish, creme color and its the elephant type design. If that makes sense to anyone??? Well, after that, it was off to IZZYS for some ice cream with the group.

So, I went to Caspers on Saturday night around 9. I found out that Erica was coming too with a friend of hers. Total Coincidence. It was a relaxing kind of night. Bobbi was working, not too packed in there until like 10:30. Bobbi said I had to be there for some reason. Not sure why. I found out later of course. So, we got talking to a guy by the name of Dave, he is from Rogers, but his crew seems to love Caspers. They have good taste. So, we all were sitting around talking until like almost exactly midnight(my b-day is the 25th of June) when one of the other waitresses with Bobbi comes up front with the ingrediants for a muff Diver. I was told that Bobbi would be my model, I laughed and was a bit weirded out, since I don't really think of her that way. But, hey a 22 yr old cutie wants to be my model for a few minutes, how can I complain? They then put the happy birthday song in the karaoke machine and everyone sang to me. This place is better then my home!! I dont' remember the last time some one sang happy b-day to me. And I proceeded to make one heck of a mess. We all had lots of fun. I want to thank Erica, Drew, Chris, Dave and his friends for making my birthday night out memorable. I also, would like to thank Bobbi, she always takes care of me as everyone and always has a smile on her face. Its just so nice to go to a place to unwind and not have to think about anything. She just brings my drinks and keeps them full. My brain shuts down. And if she can keep my brother in place, all the better. No one else can seem to do that. She didn't forget my b-day and I told her about it a week before. Although, she never forgets anything. Could be scary at times I'm sure. ;)

Apartment Update

Well, I went and signed my lease on Friday the 23rd of June. I will be living at Devonshire in Blooomington. I can move in after Aug 23rd. Weird date I know. This if the floorplan, but mine has no bay window, just a deck. Its a nice place actually. I am so happy now. Now I just have to pack and such. Its just south of 98th Street on the west frontage road of 35W.

Well, it was another fun night at Caspers with our favorite waitress Bobbi. It was a dead night, which really sucked!! But we all had fun anyway. I would like to thank Chris(my brother), Shaana, Julie, Nancy, Stacy, Bryan, Dave and Megan for coming to my (a little early) birthday get together. It meant alot to me. And I would like to note, I will never invite Earl to anything again. 2 faced asshole!! I did a Muff Diver with Stacy(no one else would do it) courtesy of Bobbi. I was wondering who got that for me. The whole night Bobbi kept my Bro in line with either a wet towel or threatening to give him a donkey punch(punch to the back of the head). Good to know someone can keep him in line.

Most everyone left, and Bobbi got $5 from the guy that Nancy had the hots for to sing a song. So she sang Love shack with him. Me, Stacy, Nancy and my bro all cheared loudly for our favorite waitress and she was damn good, as usual. She made sure I drank all my drinks before I left and we all made for the door. Nancy drove Chris home, since he was tanked. I drove Stacy home, since she was tanked. It worked all in all. I didn't feel drunk at all, but boy did my head hurt the next morning!! It meant alot to me that I could get all my friends there with me for my b-day. What a great group of friends I have!! Thanks all.

Well, its a little over 2 months until the big move. I may have another option for a place in Bloomington. A woman at work knows a guy who wants to rent his 2 bedroom condo cheap. Sounds too good to be true. We will see what happens. I should know in the next 2 weeks where I am moving. I'm so excited!!

Sundays Ride

Well, Sunday I got up and it was beautiful out. I wanted to go out riding since I didn't work at Cub. Or so I thought anyway. I talked to Michelle online for a bit and she was busy. So, I ended up going out riding with Krissy from Michelles party. It was fun. She loves bikes as much as me. Now I only have like 2-3 other people that want me to take them riding. We ended up all over the place, got some ice cream and then sat at lake calhoun to let my butt heal. Cub called and said I was supposed to work that night. Turns out, I wrote someones else schedule down. Oops! Oh well, they didnt care. And I got a nice day off out of the deal. And yes, my arms are a bit burnt!

Michelle's House Party

So, Saturday was Michelles open house for the group and some of her other friends to come over. I got there at about 3 and brought some ice and such. I helped set up, stocked the coolers and then parked the bike by the garage for a beautiful evening. It was fun, her house is very nice and her yard is huge. I didn't know that many people there, other then a few people. I talked to some people for a while and generally had a good time. When I went to leave at like 1am, Michelle actually wanted me to walk my bike down the street so I didn't disturb her neighbors. Is my bike that loud? YEP!! Well, I didn't and she agreed later it was not that bad.

This is Krissy and her friend that were at Michelles party. They are new to the group. Sounds like her friend is not going to stay in Minnesota. She grew up in CA, and now wants to move to Portland, OR. Not sure why though. She was there for moral support to Krissy for her first event. Looks like she is having fun to me. Or at least they are having more fun then that guy in the background. ;)

3 months until the move

Well, its 3 months until the move. Looks like its going to Be Avalon at Devonshire so far. I just have to wait to hear from them about what they have available. I have been getting out riding plenty lately and am finally able to ride to work. Its about time. I am starting to pack some stuff that I know I wont' use and I'm also going to go thru my clothes to see what I can get rid of. I have way too many clothes. Other then that, the last few weeks have been pretty uneventful. :( I bought a new helmet for the bike and it looks pretty cool. I like this alot more. It has flames on it. Well, thats about it for now.

Moving and such update

So, I know I have not blogged for a while, but I have been busy actually. I was looking at apts all day last saturay and think I came up with a few. The one I will probably end up in is Devonshire in Bloomington. www.devonshireapts.com I moved up my move out date to sept 1st for sanity sake. I was going to move to a place in west bloomington, but the place was kind of dumpy and Megan noted that it was not that nice and there was no closet space. Not sure how I didn't notice that. So, I found a few that I like, and I will just have to wait for some openings now.

Looking for a place was very hard though with my knees. I was wearing some shoes I shouldn't have been. They have no support at all and are just cushy type shoes. Well, they screwed up my knees and they are still screwed up. The doc is getting them better, but they are still a bit off. So, no fast walking for me right now.

I just replaced the fuel filter in my truck, hoping that would fix the engine miss. So far so good. I think it was the original filter in there. So, about 10 years old. What a pain in the butt to replace!! I had gas dripping down my arms. Damn thats cold and drys your skin out really bad. Then I waxed the truck, got some Mothers Polish and Wax. Works damn good.

5 Months til the Move

Well, its 5 months until the move to Bloomington and my freedom!! I think I have abandoned the place I was originally thinking about. There is a place in west Bloomington that is really nice. Fireplace, washer and dryer in the unit with Central air. Sounds good to me. I am going to go look at it within the next few weeks. I am just hoping I can get the first floor, I just can't move my entertainment center up stairs. So, far I have a few people that are willing to help me move. I am getting more and more excited as every day goes by. My interior decorator says she has some ideas for my place and we may need to go shopping. Works for me.

4 day weekend

So, I was off from cub for this whole week and I took a few days at the end of the week off from cingular too. So, Thursday, Lovely Laura took me out to Izzys for Ice cream. I had a choc chip and strawberry cone. It was really good. We sat outside and watched as Mother Nature tried to decide what she wanted to do. Rain one minute, sun the next. But the atmosphere was nice out and we just sat and bullshitted for a while.

Then I decided to go pick up the front wheel from my motorcycle. I was getting a new tire put on, who knew that 15,000 is alot of miles for a bike tire? I sure didn't. I do wish though, they would have noticed it the week previous when it was in for its maintenance check. grrrrr

Friday, was more relaxing to be honest. Well, until the night time anyway. I didn't really do much all day, but I did go to Michaels with the group for Karaoke. I think we were the youngest group in there. The average age was like 65 and they were singing all of these old balads. Well, Shelley, Liz, Sarah, Mike, Kristina and me decided we wanted to have some fun and went to my favorite place, Caspers in Eagan!!! It was packed when we got there, but Bobbi kept us well lubricated anyway. We finally found a table and she just kept them coming, Sarah and Kristina kept buying shots, so I was getting hammered quick. Good thing Shelley was driving. One of the shots was "sex on an alligator". Who comes up with these names?

Saturday, I slept late(hung over) then just layed low. Ended up getting some Eddie chang for dinner along with the new Coldstone Creamery right next door and got a few movies. Art of war is a bit boring, but interesting.

Sunday, me and Shelley went riding on the bike for most of the day. We ended up walking down by 9 mile creek in Bloomington, it was beautiful down there. I did end up with one of my legs in the creek before the day ended. I was trying to get something out of the water. Pics to follow

Well, its 6 months till the big move to bloomington. Megan has a layout of the place I am hopefully going to get. We will go over decorating it later. She is a genious when it comes to making a place look homey. I have the first week of Oct off already. I am so excited.

Brave New Workshop

So, we went to Fuddruckers first for dinner. She was craving a hamburger and I have to admit, it tasted damn good!! We got malts as well. Hers was vanilla and mine was strawberry. Ya just have to love malts, don't ya? Then we headed up to Mpls for a little theater.

So, on Saturday, me and Shelley decided to go to the Brave New Workshop and see this satirical play. It was good, not one of their best ones, but definetly good.

Friday night at Park Tavern Bowling

So, friday night we went bowling at Park Tavern in St. Louis Park. The standard hang out. I was out at a going away party for someone from work at Joe Sensors in Bloomington, so I decided to go bowling after since it was not far away. Since their were lots of college sports games on, the place was not exactly packed in any way. But the people that I knew in attendance were. Sassy Shelley, David, Earl, Yummy Yolanda, Lovely Laura, Lisa, Connie(happy b-day to her) and a few other people I don't know very well. I so sucked!! I couldn't get a spare to save my life for the most part. Very low score for me. So, I get there and start getting the jukebox going so it doesn't play rap all night long. The first song I chose was the Dixie Chicks: Earl has to Die. I didn't even realize until it was playing that we had an Earl with us. He doesn't like that song apparantly. Who knew??

All in all it was a fun night. They have wi-fi in the building so I go to try that on my new phone now. It was cool, since their is usually no signal in there. But we all left around midnight and went home to bed. Darn long day for me anyway.

Failure to Launch

This is the part of the blog where we review the movies. Ok just one actually. Me and Shelley went to go see Failure to Launch with Matthew Mchonahey(sp) and Sarah Jessica Parker. Now I am not a fan of Sarah jessica Parker, but Matthew is pretty funny. The connection between the 2 lead characters just didn't work. But the supporting cast was hilarious!! I have not laughed that hard for about 4 months when I first met Shelley I think. There is some slapstick, some humor that will make you say "Ewwwwww!" and some very dry humor that I personally just love. I do recommend this movie, its very good!

Caspers Saturday March 4th 2006

So, there is was, the table we reserved in Bobbi's section at caspers on what was soon to be a very FUN night with alot of good friends. It was planned for 3 weeks and finally was coming together. I was very excited and hopeful the night would be a success since I don't plan things all that often. Normally leave that up to the more experienced. Like Megan. ;)

So, me and Shelley get there at a little after 8 and go sit down. (after people that were sitting in our table are shooed off) We were sitting there for about 5 minutes wondering where Bobbi was to come take our order. Well, we didn't have to wait long. She comes over to the table with both of our drinks in hand, saying she saw us come in. Ain't she great?? So, the place is packed and we have this big table all to ourselves hoping for a big turnout. Snacking on some mozarella sticks, The first people show up.

This is Bobbi, the best server ever!!! She was taking all of our orders and keeping us all very well lubricated. She has the uncanny knack of knowing all of our drinks. Not sure how she does it. She is a goddess I guess.
